Drafting the Plan

I worked out another 3 chapter drafts. Now when I say ‘draft’ I mean something like a rough happening in and around 3-5 pages long. I input scenes and ideas as they come to me, I add in dialogue when it occurs to me if only to help me remember what’s going on at that time. I think I need one more insert for the opposing side unless I can figure out a way to cram it all into one chapter.

I’ve gotten far enough that things are starting to happen – well things have been happening since the start of the story – but more or less has very little to do with the main character. I think in a few more chapters the main character will finally take center stage and we’ll get to see things from her perspective.

At this point now that the Novel is nearly half way planned I think I’ll spend a little more energy cleaning up some of my new drafts, if only to clear things up in my own mind.

Progress on my Untitled Novel

I’ve been sick with the seasonal flu…But after some much needed rest, I was able to make some headway with my novel. So maybe the flu was good for something.

Currently the novel remains unnamed, but I hope to be struck with some source of inspiration before the book is through. Although I know that I’m not particularly skilled at creating story titles so I might end up leaving it up to someone else.

Synopsis
The story takes place in what could be considered a Post Apocalyptic world where man is trying to re-assert himself as the dominant race. Their feud with ‘neo-human’ types and some unknowns create a place of perpetual war as Political powers shift and attempt to maintain control.

The story starts as a new Government takes over and searches for a way to end all this bloodshed in a moderately peaceful way. Some turn to creating God-Like creatures where others attempt to seek out the last existing God.

I’ve had about 4 chapters already written in the past year, but unfortunately the time hasn’t really presented itself for me to continue with the project. That is until now.

I’ve had time to mull over the characters and their motives, as well as the effect and state of the world that they’re in and the various groups within it.

The Progress
I’ve fleshed out 4 chapters only to end up inserting 2 more to help round out some of the secondary cast and better gauge a different angle of the civilisation that the main characters are trying to protect. So this brings out total to 6 completed chapters not counting the two drafts of the inserts. I have 11 more chapters drafted, but I’m sure there will be other inserts.
