So I started hacking away at the changes that I had made notes about and looked like I had been making progress. I wrote out two chapters, both of which I’m satisfied with the story arc – except that when I go into Chapter 6 (which originally Chapter 5), I’m having an insane time carrying on from there. It’s been like this for nearly 6 months and I can’t think of a way to press on. I have all the arcs planned out and the events set up, characters in place, It just won’t budge.
Time To Focus
I finally have time off – for quite some time by the sounds of it, nine months if I’m unfortunate enough to stay in Sudbury, though my bosses would love to have me back if they could scrounge the pennies and get me to yield for 1/4 of my original pay. So…in that regards, they have along wait, I’m quite capable of supporting myself during this lean time. Time off is great! It means I can write AND be paid for it – Sort off.
I have to be realistic and get my portfolio up and ready for prospective Employers, which is unfortunately more important than writing at the moment. I figure as long as I write an hour a day and continue to do so, mostly out of habit, I should be able to make steady progress. This is also because I don’t have a job that sucks all my creative juices out me as soon as I walk through the door.
Writing wise:
I have to re-read everything and actually keep my notes somewhere safe. Since my first 3 chapter as decent for a 2nd draft – I’m not going to bother 3rd drafting them until I have the rest of the novel done its 2nd draft.
